Acer has been hard at work on their new tablet, the Iconia A1-810, but a cloud of uncertainty still looms about its June release later this year. Not all the information about the device is known yet but we can expect to see lots of added features when it finally does come out.

From images posted on the internet, the Iconia A1-810 looks really clean and professional. It has a glossy finish at the front and a white finish at the back. It comes in at 208.7 x 145.7 x 10.5 mm while weighing in at 460g. Certainly the designers at Acer will have put a lot of work into making sure that their new tablet becomes a certified eye candy.

As for the display, it has a 7.9-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which is good for a pixel density of 162ppi. With this, you can enjoy crisp and detailed images on your tablet.

Behind Acer’s tablet lies a quad-core processor clocking in at 1.2 GHz that’s sure to delight data-processing hogs. It runs Android’s latest OS, Jelly Bean. Additional features include an MTK 8125 chipset.

The Iconia Tab A1-810 ships with 16 GB of internal storage. However, if you run out of storage, a microSD card slot capable of up to 32 GB of additional storage is there to save the day. The tablet comes with 1 GB of RAM, which is enough for most users.

As with all the other devices present today, the Iconia Tab A1-810 supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 functionality right out of the box. Also, it has a microUSB v2.0 port and an HDMI port.

Acer’s new tablet houses a Li-Ion 3250 mAh battery. No talk time or stand-by time has been announced, however.

The tablet has two cameras: a rear one and a front one. The rear camera shoots at 5 MP at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels with autofocus. The front camera shoots only at VGA resolution. Also, video recording is also supported.

With what information we have as of now, Acer’s new tablet looks pretty decent. A price tag of £199 has been set though that can change within the two months before its release date. While the release date is a few months away, you might want to save up for this tablet. While maybe not the best in the market, it definitely is worth a look.
